Squamish kiteboarding wind report

by Colin

Very clear skies on all the cams! Looks like another great day for the Spit.

Calling for a small chance of showers in Lilloeet late this afternoon but it doesn’t seem

likely from the satellite images and dry air in the valley.

A 4 degree gradient is forecast with a high of 23 degrees for the Squamish.

For the Spit expect 15-20 knots with steady winds early.

4:06 PM PDT   7.10 feet  Low Tide

Light Westerlies building in the Georgia Straight. These will get stronger into this evening and drop off tomorrow.

Light outflows for Howe Sound this morning and a 7 degree gradient is forecast for the Spit.

Squamish wind for kiteboarding report

by Colin

Cooler valley temps this morning with Pemberton down to 7 degrees. Vancouver sitting at 13 degrees. This will cause light outflows until early afternoon and lighter inflow winds throughout the day. Although web cams show a lot of Sun for Pemberton/Lillooet. So we could see stronger inflows based on that.

Jet stream still dipping down but a big high pressure behind that! Should see lots of Sun once this pushes in.

For the Spit expect 15-18 knots with lower tides.

2:49 PM PDT   4.90 feet  Low Tide

Breaking clouds and clearing skies on the Howe sound and Squamish valley cams.
Moderate inflows for Howe Sound already this morning. This is due to a small gradient between Squamish and Vancouver. As colder temps move into the city this mornning creating light Westerlies for the Vancouver area. These will taper off as it warms up and clears above the Georgia Straight.
For the Spit expect strong winds in the morning tapering off to moderate winds through the afternoon. 15-25 knots.
2:14 PM PDT 4.09 feet Low Tide
