Wind forecast Squamish Spit kiteboarding

by Colin

Very sunny on all the B.C. web cams this morning. High humidtity in the Whistler/Pemberton valley. This can cause cumulus clouds and T-storms late in the afternoon. West winds increase in the Georgia Straight as the fog bank sits off the shore of the Vancouver area. Both of these may effect the afternoon winds but with the very strong gadient we might see no negative effects to the wind. A 12 degree gradient is forecast for Howe sound, with a high of  28 degrees for Squamish and with no outflows early this morning you can expect good early afternoon winds!

For the Spit expect 20+ knots with steady winds through the morning until at least 4:00.

9:20 AM PDT   2.51 feet  Low Tide

Wind forecast for kiteboarding in Squamish

by Colin

Bluebird skies on the webcams this morning. A small Low has moved South in the Pacific and will cause some disturbances in the weather for tomorrow but will not effect today.

Strong outflows this morning due to a reverse gradient for Howe Sound. This will take a while for the valley temps to accelerate above Vancouver temps. EC is calling for light inflows around 3:00 for the Squamish Spit.

For the Spit expect 15-20 knots later in the day into the evening as the Low approaches.

5:51 PM PDT   9.66 feet  Low Tide
