Wind and weather Squamish

Mainly cloudy on most of the B.C. web cams. Starting to clear in the Pemberton valley. Should see things shaping up quickly. Forecast is for a 2 degree gradient with a high of 20 for Squamish but with the clear skies it will be warmer in the valley. E.C. is calling for 10-15 knots for Howe Sound. For the Spit expect 20 knots with sunny breaks by Noon. No more sand bars. 1:47 PM PDT   6.02 feet  Low Tide

Low clouds and sunny breaks on the Squamish web cams. Heavy clouds and rain on the Valley cams this morning. Satellite shows signs of clearing this afternoon. 2 degree gradient with a high of 20 for Squamish. Howe Sound already inflowing this morning. For the Spit expect 20+ knots. 1:03 PM PDT   4.73 feet  Low Tide

West winds in the Georgia Straight, forecast is for it to drop before Noon.

Weather/wind Squamish & Vancouver

Some high cloud passing through this morning. Satellite shows clearing towards Noon. Warmest morning in the last few days for the valley with almost no outflows overnight. 8 degree gradient with a high of 23 for Squamish. Light S.E. push from the city will get inflows started early today. This is a pattern for strong inflows for Howe Sound.

For the Spit expect 20-30 knots with low tides and big sand bars. 12:20 PM PDT   3.75 feet  Low Tide

Very clear on the B.C. web cams this morning. light to moderate outflows for Howe Sound. Light West winds in the Georgia Straight with a very strong gradient for Vancouver/Lillooet. Forecast is for a 12 degree gradient with a high of 26 for Squamish. Extreme low tides from 10:00-1:00. For the Spit expect 20+ knots today with large and bars showing for most of the day. 11:36 AM PDT   3.17 feet  Low Tide

Some high clouds on the B.C. web cams. Forecast is for clear skies with a 11 degree gradient and a high of 27 for Squamish. No westerlies in the Georgia Straight today, so no effect on the inflow for Howe Sound. The warmest morning in Whistler over the last few days. This will get the inflows going earlier and stronger. For the Spit expect 20 knots with sand bars showing before Noon. 10:52 AM PDT   3.01 feet  Low Tide

West winds in the Georgia straight remain constant throughout the morning.

A few scattered clouds on the B.C. web cams this morning. Increasing clouds late this afternoon on the sattelite. 8 degree gradient with a high of 23 for Squamish. Strong outflows this morning mean a late start. Sandbars come back later this week. For the Spit expect 15-20 knots with a later start. 8:25 AM PDT   4.28 feet  Low Tide

Still a few clouds on the web cams this morning. Clearing trend as the Pacific high is setting up to the West of  B.C.

Today 6 degree gradient with a high of 22 for Squamish. E.C. is calling for no inflows today but with the temps already 2 degrees warmer in the valley it seems unlikely. For the Spit expect 15-20 knots with a late start.  8:07 PM PDT  11.55 feet  Low Tide

Clouds and rain on the web cams. Forecast is calling for up to 50 mm for Squamish. 6:40 PM PDT  11.40 feet  Low Tide

Satellite shows a clearing later in the day. For the Spit expect 5-15 knots of gusty cold wind.

For the lower mainland moderate S.E. winds pick up in Boundary Bay. Best bet 3rd ave. High tides for the most part of the day. Expect up to 20 knots.
